António Maçanita is a rock star in the Portuguese wine scene. Based in his homeland, Alentejo, he has several projects across the country from Douro to the Azores and Porto Santo.

The latter two have seen significant growth since the beginning of Maçanita's projects, being the two regions with the most expensive grapes in the country. This is one of the factors that demonstrates Maçanita not only makes great wines but also plays an active role in invigorating the island regions.

It has always been known to any Madeiran that the grapes from Porto Santo were of enormous quality. But it took an Alentejano to go to Porto Santo and energize this small island, creating some of the best white wines in Portugal.
