QUINTA DA CHOCAPALHA CASTELÃO
Here, not even during the time of Muslim occupation was winemaking ceased. Its connection to wine dates back to the 2nd century BC, adding up to 23 centuries of continuous wine production.
Since 1987, the Tavares da Silva family has perpetuated this regional legacy, combining the knowledge of the ancients with the expertise of the renowned oenologist Sandra Tavares, and a terroir of excellence, the results are in sight.
It should be mentioned that not all families have the luxury of having Sandra Tavares x).
The "Quinta da Chocapalha Castelão" is one of the fruits of this harmonious combination of factors, favorable to the production of high-quality wines. The Castelão, grown in clay-limestone soils and after half of the batch rests for 14 months in almost old French oak barrels, reveals itself as fruity with welcoming tannins and a remarkable freshness.
